Let’s take a moment to check my New Year’s To Do List: Get to the gym, eat more vegetables and enter the Edward R. Murrow Awards.
Think about the great stories you've done in the past year; the stories where it all came together. Did you have a well-told feature story that touched the heart? Did your coverage of a breaking news story have all of the angles and keep your viewers informed? Did one of your investigations create positive change in your community? We want to recognize that work and give you a chance to promote that recognition to your audience.
Unlike arm curls and broccoli, it's easier than ever to enter the Edward R. Murrow Awards competition. You can submit all of your stories electronically, using our online entry system. Enter your contact information, details about your stories and links to your work so our judges can take a look, and you're ready to go. When the system asks for payment of your entry fees, remember that RTDNA members get a discount on every entry, so it's worth your while to be a member. If you enter just a handful of stories, you've easily made up the cost of membership. To become a member, check out the benefits, study the membership types and visit our signup page.
As for my to do list, one out of three ain’t bad.
- A glimmer of good news
- RTDNA Region 8 Director named
- RTDNF to honor Gannett's Dave Lougee
- Federal shield law: Member call to action!
