As the economy slowly recovers from the financial crisis, home prices are gradually coming back up and housing inventory is shrinking in many areas around the country. As a result, houses listed for sale are selling more quickly, leaving some homebuyers frustrated.
CNN Money explains that buyers in search of their dream home need to plan ahead and look for listings in unconventional ways, to prevent great properties from being snapped up, such as real-time email alerts for new listings, or contacting agents about unlisted properities.
Is the housing market improving in your area? Consider interviewing real estate agents about how quickly homes are turning over and what buyers can do to get first pick of the best new listings. You could also profile a prospective buyer about how they are conducting their search.
