Few Journalist today live up to Edward R. Murrow's standards
I've watch news broadcasting since the black/white TV days. Mr. Murrow was a cut above everyone else and worked for the people. Today we have seen the news report the propaganda given by the White House. Media Executives have directed news casters to stop them from giving the truth. Some news casters even involved themselves and their opinions in the news to support the lies by the White House. The news media has been found to be dishonest and righ-wing. As noted with Katie Couric, David Gregory, Chris Matthews and Andrea Mitchell. Americans no longer trust the news media for fair/balanced reporting. Most people go to the websites or foreign news such as BBC for the truth. One man stands alone as an American news caster that Edward R. Murrow would be proud of during these corrupt govenment times. This evening news caster does report the news but allows the audiance to know who's giving it as not to make it his own. He in other words covers his back by not being seen as telling a story that isn't proved or trusted. He's some what controlled by the Executives but uses the right words to cover his back. He has not only become the only trusted news caster but a person American viewers can say what they feel good or bad. So as you give your awards and if you forget to give this man his just do, Americans know who they can trust. This man is Brian Williams of Nightly News and he should get the award hands down. You may find others who are good but he is the BEST. In second place is PBS and their is no third place winner. With the values of Journalism that Edward R. Murrow, I know he would give Brian Williams two thumbs up this year as it was a tough one.
Thanks for reading my opinion and I'll still be watching.

murrow categories
Is there any discussion, or has there been, about adding commentary as a category, esp. since Murrow himself excelled in this area?
